Aiding the Enemy

Denis Brent Rees

Father when we have suffered some type of theft we take an inventory of everything we have left Our valuable items are those most likely taken so we double check 'though we're visibly shaken

When victimized we don't know where to start especially if items lost were close to our heart We wonder how our valuables can be replaced and relate to other difficult times we've faced

Father our hearts need to be inventoried too in search of past passions we exhibited for You When and where did we lose our former zeal who has entered in to take away Your appeal

Have Satan's armies of eyes and flesh and pride stealthily removed what we used to hold inside Did he take away things we had left unguarded and did we even notice when they had departed

Did we know we were victims of his pickpockets or were we unaware because of all on our docket Lord we've lost much of that we've had at times while aiding the one who commits those crimes

Oh Dear Father may we guard all that we love setting our sights on our Loving Father above May we love You so there is no room for sin taking care to broom all the sin from within

In The Name of Christ Jesus

Amen!
