Broken Hearted

Father God we give thanks for Your caring ways
for bearing our angst and giving Hope to our days
Every one of the brokenhearted have You to turn to
in ways unspoken and in words You imparted too

Father are the brokenhearted those who are sad
or those who departed when they chose to be bad
Are they who walked right into the camp of defeat
confusing bright lights for The Lamp unto their feet

You sent Your only Son to heal us and to forgive
to present Godly ways and to reveal how to live
Christ our Savior did everything His Father asked
by His behavior He showed what to bring to a task

In the thirty three years Christ walked upon this sod
He wiped tears from the dirty and talked of His God
Your Son spoke to the hurt the proud and the broken
even the loud and haughty heard what He had spoken

In Your Word Father we are taught how to behave
when we are brought to our knees it is You we crave
Your Son bought True Life for lives sad and prosaic
in ones caught in strife He crafted in them a mosaic

Father we see ourselves as being the brokenhearted
for we are merely tokens of the beings You started
Let us not live with the little fervor that has sufficed
forgive us and lead us to be servers as was Christ
