Jesus The Christ is Risen Today

We serve the risen Savior and joy is in the air
every day we need Him and He is always there
God wants every person to know His Only Son
there's room at the cross for each and everyone

Unto those of us who have needed correction
Jesus has clearly stated "I am the resurrection"
How much simpler could He get His point across
and those refusing to listen will suffer eternal loss

The Christ who lives today in no need of a 'code'
died for our sins lifts burdens and shares our load
He came down to lift us up with His loving hands
His Father is our Father we heed His commands

This wonderful God who prefers no one perish
sent His Son for sinners to love and to cherish
This Jesus brings joy and hope to loving hearts
where He abides life's renewed and sin departs

Father may we rise up as Jesus did from a tomb
by Him we're reborn without returning to a womb
Our lives were empty and our sad souls were lost
before Christ rose He paid the price our sins cost

Glory to God The Father and Glory to God The Son
glory to God The Spirit to God The Three In One
Jesus came to save us and give us new direction
we praise You God for His wondrous resurrection
