Open my eyes My Lord and cause me to see
none other than Jesus and all He means to me
Over these eyes Lord remains mankind's glaze
if it stays there is no going forth in Thy ways

Missions for Thee've been muddied and hazed
wisdom in Thy Word unstudied my soul dazed
Oh Lord my thoughts wander with no direction
what I ought ponder has unknown predilection

Lord take my gaze from things here on earth
for in these days my ways forsake my rebirth
Why ask for change if not for head and heart
one is led by the other and seldom far apart

The transformations those few saw upon the hill
gave them confirmation Your Son knew Thy will
Lift my soul Lord to that point of improved view
it is time my whole is moved so to become true

Lord help me set forth a call to be born again
one that may be foreign to all women and men
The One who frees us knows each one's plight
reason for us to show our Jesus to be The Light

With darting eyes I can't even begin to zero in
imparting the same as those whose hero is sin
Open my eyes My Lord and sharpen my vision
all Hope lies in You for my re-heartened mission
