Lost and Found

Father God thank You for this new life found
thank You for freeing me from all that bound
Lord I thought I had it all and with little cost
I learned I was no further than others lost

As many I was concerned how the world sees us
praised God I finally discovered New Life in Jesus
Lord all that I had was ready to go up in smoke
until that day I listened as a small voice spoke

Alas Lord all those upon whom I had once relied
would not stand when they were tested and tried
Even now Lord God they return to take me away
they hope I will not listen to what You have to say

I had so much fun as long as the charade would last
as long as I gluttoned and as long as I dared live fast
At times Lord I hoped the old life would never end
what a way to go with the short time I had to spend

Father forgive me for turning my back to the cross
reflecting now that brought pain and agony and loss
God You saw everything I believed I successfully hid
patiently You waited and now I am so glad You did

The empire I was building lies laden with old dross
my hiding places now are at the foot of the cross
Lord I have said goodbye to the worldly charms
security and salvation were found in Your arms
