"His mother saith unto the servants, 'Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.'" John 2:5
When His Mother Spoke
Denis Brent Rees
Dear Loving Father all praise and all glory be Thine
by Thy power Christ turned Cana's water into wine
Guests at the wedding were not expecting too much
as the best we are getting ere accepting Your touch
Jesus was known by all who supped in the upper room
He too was loved by she who then wept at His tomb
Hated by many of that day ignored by many another
perhaps who understood most was Mary His mother
Mary the young maiden God chose from high above
in her womb was placed God's own Symbol of Love
Chosen by God to bring into the world His only Son
escorted by her husband whose heart she had won
In Your Word Father we read the words of so many
yet one directive stands out Lord as important as any
Seven brief words we see spoken by Your dear Mary
said unto the servants who in turn knew not to tarry
Uttered by the mother of The Messiah sent to earth
this lovely young woman who brought Jesus to birth
Mother Mary made the statement we should live by
we could not say it better no matter how we would try
Mary's words phrased simply as if said directly to us
words from one in whom You had placed Godly trust
Apostle John gave record of her word and led us to it
so well stated "Whatsoever He saith unto you, do it"
In The Name of Christ Jesus
Amen
