"He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth."
Luke 11:23
No Middle Ground
Denis Brent Rees
May we walk and talk with You our Almighty Lord
that we might not balk but join Thee in one accord
When You go to the east or turn toward the west
then may we go with Thee yearning for Your best
Let us not draw a map where we want You to be
but wont not by daring to trust in Thy True Majesty
We can travel the high road with You as our Guide
or become unraveled by the load we carry inside
Weekend worshipers we cannot simply become
weakened by whispers of what we seem to some
No we must go into fields where the grains grow
sowing more seeds that yield gains You will know
No greater Love is there than that of Your Holy Son
sooner or later that is to be shared with every one
We will never be more than just part of life's riddle
til we sever ties with a heart that lies in the middle
Will we as sowers and gatherers toil only for You
or still ignore good soil pursuing what blatherers do
Do we believe we can wallow in an area that is gray
and achieve for You while swallowing what others say
If we're not gathering we're sending souls to scatter
rather pretending those same souls really do matter
Lord there are lives to be saved and lost to be found
for sin thrives as a cost of standing on middle ground
In The Name of Christ Jesus
Amen!
