We Can Overcome

Dear Heavenly Father You are so very good
but there is evil here in every neighborhood
The evil's tools spread bad where he roams
into our heads in our schools and our homes

As our Father God You desire for us the best
yet we are bothered by this liar in every test
You are our strength our God The Omnipotent
and think it not odd evil's gains are so evident

Lord in these closing days we need turn to You
for the evil one is posing as a trusted leader too
Never in time God have our needs been greater
we dare not let crime and greed be our dictator

Evil is one terrorist who means to maim or kill
in terrorizing us so we will not claim Your will
It is not for us to stray as some little lost lamb
No our Lord Jesus paid the cost The Great I Am

Now right now Lord we must do as we should
we knew how but just did not do as we could
So let us pile goodness wherever evil piles bad
all the while smiling and in Your armor be clad

Dear Heavenly Father You have given us gifts
even Your Holy Spirit who lives in us and lifts
We shall not be overcome in any good we do
if in our overcoming we get up from our pews
