Oh Lord my God renew this mind of mine
ought it not be truly refined as just Thine
I confess Lord that I have allowed in trash
opening the door to things proud and brash

Lord I come to my Creator as a needy child
as if I am a traitor who has been beguiled
This world has many ways of subtle alluring
swirled with rays of false hope's reassuring

Help me Dear Lord in this time of my need
for I find myself requiring Thy sublime deed
Lord God I am one who has been born again
yet worn and forlorn by wicked ways of men

If not for Your undying mercy and Thy grace
I would be lying scorched in a merciless place
It is not easy for me to humbly come to Thee
uneasily pleading and asking uncomfortably

You are my Holy Father and I ask to return
bothered bedeviled abashed and spurned
Here I am Dear Lord in fear and trembling
not caring for what I come here resembling

Father God retake remold remap my ways
only You do not forsake me in all of my days
Make my mind now suitable for You to reside
beautiful art Thou for hearing me when I cried
