Abide in me saith my Lord Jesus The Son
stay with Me that the Father's will be done
A branch does not produce fruit on its own
it's an arm extending from what it's known

Branches require pruning to bear better fruit
an unwieldy branch is a mere fruitless pursuit
Pruned by a grower a branch grows stronger
yet left to its own it produces fruit no longer

Father such is the case between You and I
in You is The Master's Plan for me to live by
When I live on my own I fill up with tension
rooted in You I become Your own extension

Fruit I produce myself will rot on the ground
fresh from Your Vine the best fruit is found
Prune me Father provide me Your direction
dress me with Your Spirit's loving protection

Cause me to produce fruit in a divine season
fruit brought forth with You as The Reason
God's fruit stems from The Master's True Vine
unsurpassed flavor will be an indisputable sign

Ultimate honor the core of a believer's mind
oh to be labeled as one of The Master's kind
Lord abiding in You my sole lasting ambition
praising You as Thy Plan comes to fruition
