Precious Father thank You for sending Jesus
He whose blood sanctifies us then frees us
It was Your Holy Spirit who anointed Your Son
after all the years pointed to Him as The One

Many accepted Him when He came to minister
yet any who rejected Him claimed Him sinister
Isaiah's words The Spirit of the Lord is upon me
made clear it was You who looked on Him fondly

Father You sent Your Son here for our salvation
and to mend us from the evil one's sin invasion
Jesus was there before Your creation of mankind
ere the sun was formed and ere the moon shined

By the infilling of The Spirit Your Son preached
willing to share it with everyone that he reached
Not all who heard Him felt their need to be freed
but all called concurred and knelt as they agreed

Father fill us with The Holy Spirit who filled Christ
who fulfilled Your will and then thus paid the price
Cause us to hide Thy Holy Word within our hearts
for Jesus has stirred our souls by all He imparts

When we are filled and anointed just as Christ
You will not be disappointed when we are enticed
For Lord who or what could ever lead us astray
if we endeavor to heed Jesus Christ in every way
