The disciples were astonished
As their eyes beheld that sight.
Their master stood, transfigured,
And His clothing turned to light.
Elijah came with Moses
And with Jesus Christ he spoke.
And Peter, he was sore afraid,
And he, the silence broke;
"Three tabernacles we should have...
One for each of you...
And we should build them here because
Its good for us to do!"
Now, see how quickly man will try
To organise himself
From tradition's abject poverty
And not from God's great wealth?
But a wealth of information
God did give to everyone;
His command to Peter clearly was,
"Listen to my Son!"
So listening now to Jesus Christ
(or His apostles, true)
Which building are we building, friend?
Will God rebuke us, too?
For some go to the greatest lengths
And many have great trouble;
And yet the building which they build
Is wood and hay and stubble.
Now in that day they will be saved;
Their faith, it does stand sure.
If only, then, their works had been
So perfect and so pure.
But many choose to build upon
The pattern set by men;
And so the question does arise...
Will God rebuke again?
God has set the pattern
As to how His Church must grow.
And in that Day when our works burn
We'll know he told us so.
The Church becomes a business
With some "Incorporated"
Babylon is booming!
Is this what God created?
