Lesson 398: "Falling Off A Log"

Being saved is as easy as falling off a log. Balancing on a log is like living in the world of sin and trying to escape the fire of hell. When the Holy Spirit convicts you, I imagine Him turning that log just enough for you to slip and fall (into the arms of Jesus). We all have sinned and fall but it is eternally better to fall in the saving arms of Jesus Christ than to let the devil take hold of your foot and keep you in the sin of the world (Eph. 4:27).

God wants everyone to be saved but this is an individual choice (1 Tim. 2:4). Choose you this day whom you will serve (Jos. 24:14). But choose while it is still TODAY (Heb. 3:13) or in other words, while you still have physical life. Do not plan on being saved tomorrow because tomorrow does not belong to you (Jm. 4:14, Pro. 27:1). God has planned your days on earth (Job 14:5) and He has appointed to each a time to die and after that, judgment (Heb. 9:27).

He is coming back to take His children into eternal life with Him and when this time comes the "log" (earth) will be burned (2 Pet. 3:6). If your name is not written in the Book of Life you will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire with the devil, the beast and the false prophet (Rev. 20:10-15).

TODAY, if you hear His voice (Heb. 3:15) call on His name (Rom. 10:13, Acts 2:21) and be saved. There was a man, a very important man in the Book of Acts who was convicted by the teaching of Paul. However, Felix said; "That's enough for now! You may leave! When I find it CONVENIENT I will send for you" (Acts 24:24-25). We read that Felix was succeeded by Porcius and that Felix left Paul in prison because he was trying to please man (Acts 24:27), but it is never recorded that Felix was saved. Think about this and remember that we must always strive to please God and not man (1 Thess. 2:4). If today you are not saved; fall off the log through faith and by His grace, be saved (Eph. 2:8).
